Dylan has this thing about who's the most "brown." Grandpa Findlay, although white, has black (and gray!) hair and is very dark complected. Dyl's skin is a very light brown, except for during the summer when he spends all his time out in the sun. Grandpa and Dyl have about the same color skin but, at the first of summer, Dyl was darker than Grandpa--And he made sure to compare and point it out. One day I went to pick Dylan up after work and, on the way home, I asked what he'd been doing all day. He simply replied, "Oh...just hanging out in the sun and getting browner." Whenever we go swimming at Aunt Tracy's pool Dyl greases himself up with her coconut-smelling suntan oil and says, "Can you smell my suntan?" After he lays out for about 2 seconds he dives back in the pool. Anyway, on this particular day I asked Dylan why he and Shaylee had written all over their legs with a brown marker. Dyl's response was, "We're just trying to get a little browner!"

Brown & Browner
