Commercial Madness...
Dyl went in to watch tv while I checked my email. A few minutes later, Dylan came in and said, "Mom, we should get that thing on tv for you. It says, "You don't have to shave, you just have to smooth...We gotta get it!"
Things goin' through a kid's mind...
Dylan: Mom, can I please have some more canteloupe?
Mom: I'm sorry, Bud...but it's all gone. Do you want some strawberries or grapes instead?
Dylan: No. That's ok...I'll just wait till Jesus makes some more canteloupe.

Famous Quotes by Dylan...
"Mom, I think I've decided I don't want to be a train engineer when I grow up 'cuz I wanna be a teacher. That way when the kids won't be quiet I can just kick them out of school."

Hot Date...
Dyl and I went to an orientation for his new preschool today. Afterwards we went to lunch at the Training Table. Dyl wanted to pay so I gave him the money. When he got to the counter he handed the girl the money and said, "I'm bringing my mom on a hot date." Oh...I want him to be little forever!

Dylan's philosophy on Jesus...
"Mom, we can't really see Jesus...He just lives in our hearts. He just has a microphone and he can talk to our hearts that way. But ya know...remember that one place with all the pretty flowers? Jesus lives there in that house. He probably was just gone to the store when we stopped by. Jesus is really nice and we love him. Satan is bad and evil and we don't really like to talk about him. He makes really bad choices and makes us say bad words when we don't even want to...They just come right out of our mouth. That's why we need to follow Jesus 'cuz when we say bad words, our moms get really mad and yell at us. I think it's because they didn't get enough sleep and they're grumpy...But we still love our moms. Jesus loves our moms, too 'cuz he loves everybody."

Short trip...
Aunt Tracy gave Dylan a great big map of the world. This morning Dyl woke up and brought it into where I'm working. He said, "Mom...when you get off work I think we should go somewhere fun." Silly me for thinking Dyl wanted to go to the park or to a movie or Chuck E. Cheese's or somewhere. Dylan pointed to Russia on the map and said, "I think we should go here." That'd be an extra short trip since I have to be back to work tomorrow!

Stealing the show...
I play the piano for my church choir. Today as I went up on the stand I told Dyl to sit still and watch as the choir sang. I began to play the piano, the choir began to sing...And then came Dylan, hopping up on the piano bench and hugging me as I was playing the piano--right there in front of the whole congregation. I was a little frustrated w/Dyl and he knew it. On the way home I asked Dyl why he didn't listen to me and stay sitting down in the audience. His response was, "Well, Mommy...I just wanted to give you a great big hug...is there really something wrong with that?" My frustration turned into a little giggle as I realized he's just a 4-year-old and I guess it wasn't really that big of a deal.

Recipe from the famous chef...
Dylan spent last week at Grandma & Grandpa's house in Idaho. It's zucchini season so Grandma and Dylan made a chocolate zucchini cake. This was our conversation about the subject:
Dylan: Mom, we should make that yummy zucchini cake me and Grandma made.
Mom: You think we could make it as yummy as you and Grandma?
Dylan: Ya...We just need some really soft butter and some chocolate cocoa and some cucumbers. Then you just mix it around and around and then you burn it in the oven...

Stunning Mr. P
These are the pictures I took of my nephew, Payton today. Payton is such a big ball of personality! One day a few months ago Payton started calling me Diet Coke. I guess he heard us talking about Diet Coke and it sounded like Aunt Cole...So it's my new name! This morning Payton was wearing a muscle shirt so I said, "Hey, muscle boy...What's your name?" Payton's mom said, "Tell her it's Mr. P." Payton's reply was, "That's LITTLE P to you!" I absolutely love this kid!

Top 10 things I miss about Dylan today...

1- Loud bouts of laughter
2- Questions about why Dyl can't have a gas-powered 4-wheeler and animals, like horses and cows, in the backyard
3- Hearing words like "holy sh**" and threatening Dyl that if he says it again he won't be going to the circus..
4- Cuddles and reading books...
5- The way Dylan sneaks into my bed at night...Then turns upside-down and kicks me all night long...
6- Somebody to bake cookies with and somebody to argue with about taking a Sunday afternoon nap. (Dyl isn't much of a napper!)
7- Noise
8- A jabbering kid in the backseat of the car. I rarely turn on the radio so it's REALLY quiet without Dyl in the car.
9- Pee all over the toilet seat and the complaints of having to clean it up
10- Hugs, kisses, and "I love you Mommy's"

Weekend in Poky
We got our family pictures taken with Mom, Dad, my siblings, and their spouses and kids. The kids actually cooperated so hopefully we got some good ones. It was a short trip but it's always a good time when we get together with family!
Don't I have the 2 most adorable neices you ever saw in your whole entire life?
Payton and Dyl exhibiting their musical talents... Payton, complete with a rocker hair-do, was excited to have all the cousins over to play. Dyl and Payton played the drums and danced for us...
We celebrated Ryan, Kathy and Karla's birthdays. Dyl and Karly would never miss out on some birthday cake!

Made ya work for it!

Junk in the trunk...
We were on our way up to Pocatello to get family pictures taken with the Findlay crew. Chase and Dylan were in the backseat picking on each other so we decided to have them watch a movie on Tracy's laptop. Chase wanted to watch "Scooby Do." Dylan, on the other hand, wanted to watch "Lady in the Trunk (translated: Lady and the Tramp)."

Cayenne pepper don't wash out
When my brother, Anthony, was about Dylan's age he began to have a potty mouth and there was nothing my mom hated more than to hear her children swear. Every time Anthony would swear she'd threaten to wash his mouth out with soap. Finally, when the soap trick didn't work, Mom took a little pinch of cayenne pepper and stuck it on the tip of Anthony's tongue. I still remember Anthony in the bathroom spitting and trying to wash the pepper taste out of his mouth and crying, "Cayenne peppie don't wash out!" It actually worked 'cuz I don't think Anthony swore for a long time after that! Anyways...So lately Dyl and Chase have learned a few potty words so I told Dylan about Uncle Anthony and the cayenne pepper. Yesterday as we were at the grocery store, Dylan was focused solely on purchasing cayenne pepper. He kept asking, "Mom, where do we find the cayenne pepper? Don't forget to buy cayenne pepper." I wasn't really planning on buying any but, since Dyl insisted, we went over to the spice isle...as I wanted Dyl to realize I was serious about him using bad words....The best 2 bucks I've ever spent in my entire life! Every time Dyl even thinks about saying a bad word he reminds himself of the cayenne pepper in the cupboard...And I haven't even had to use it! It's funny how Dyl took the initiative to solve his own bad habit!

Ladies' Man...
I was telling Dylan that we're getting family pictures taken next weekend. He asked who was going to be in the family picture. I named grandma and grandpa and all Dyl's aunts and uncles and cousins. When I got done with the list Dylan asked me who else was going to be in our family picture. When I advised nobody else would be in the picture Dylan's only reply was, "Well what about all my pretty girlfriends?"
