Looking Back...
Sittin' at a stop light to turn left tonight: Light turns green and the guy in front of me puts his car in reverse and backs up into the front of my car. We pull over and the guy gets out of his car and says, "Sorry...I didn't see you." Dylan, with all 7 years of wisdom, pipes up with all seriousness, and says, "You must not be one of those people who has eyes in the back of your head!"

Reward yourself!
Dyl could NOT wait to pee so I pulled into the nearest business: Burger King. We already had dinner plans so I told him we weren't going to eat there. Dyl went into the men's room and I went into the women's. Dyl was done much quicker than I. Well...Apparently he'd gotten a Burger King rewards card last time he was in Idaho. You know...where you get points on your card when you eat there and then you spend them on free food or something. I went in and he was at the counter trying to order food with it like it was a credit card. Life with Dyl is always an adventure!
Life's Rewards...
So to get a "soaring eagle" award @ Jordan Ridge Elementary you choose from a list of extra activities/assignments. If you complete so many by the end of the year then you get your award. Dylan has 3 left to do so last night I was reading the remaining things on the list so he could choose which ones he wanted to complete. #13 on the list says, "Listen to music from any famous composer and tell your class your favorite selection and why." I went to pick Dylan up from school today and he was jamming away with his ipod. He knows he's not supposed to take the ipod to school so I'm like...What the heck? "Mom...I had to so I can get my soaring eagle award!." Dylan's choice of music was Footloose. Pretty sure he doesn't know the famous composer and I would've liked to be in the room when he explained why it was his favorite selection. Hopefully he didn't do the dance moves he practices at home where he's jiving his hips. lol! Way to take charge and earn your award, buddy! Life would be so entertaining if you were a first grade teacher!
